My testimony

Hi my name is Mary. The reason that I’m starting this blog is to reach out to people in different life situations. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper to you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. God really does have a plan for all of us! For me personally I know he does because he’s guided my every step with everything I’ve gone through to where if it wasn’t for my faith in Christ. I don’t know where I would be. Before I became a Christian I couldn’t really talk until I was 5 because of autism. I did start talking normally but then I don’t know what happened. I became a Christian when I was 7 at Des Moines assembly of God. I remember being at Sunday School  and singing the song everyday and wanting to become a Christian and shortly after I did. :) After that my speech slowly improved and it took time but by the time I was 14 it did get to where I didn’t need to go to speech therapy not to say that I don’t have trouble at times but that’s only when either I’m stressed out or I need to slow down and think through what I’m going to say or both. My childhood was fairly normal although life is never really normal. :) My Mom started homeschooling my siblings and I when I was in 3rd grade. Because of some things that happened. After that I ended up moving to Pleasant hill, Iowa and a few years later when I was in 8th grade it was a good thing that I was homeschooled because my memory ended up going crazy because of some things that happened both in my family and some personal things including back issues and my grandmother passing away. To where I ended up seeing a Neurologist and the doctor had me do a 24 hour MRI which is basically where you have some wires and basically gue put in your hair and stay at the hospital all day and I left Mercy Hospital the next day and my Dad asked me if I wanted to go shopping and I told him no because I was eager to shower and change clothes because I had youth group that day. A few weeks later I ended up being diagnosed with high functioning autism which at times is hard because I still have trouble remembering things but life was never mean’t to be easy just possible. Then in 9th grade I was still having some back issues and during that time God called me to be a music teacher missionary and it took a lot of praying but  I remember listening to life 107.1  and the song Oceans: where feet may fail by hillsong united  and I just remember telling God that if this is what he wants me to do with my life then I’ll do it. :) Then the summer before 11th grade on June 13th, 2013 my Mom and I went to a breathing specialist for a health issue I have and he saw some case of scoliosis in my back and had me do a scoliosis review which is basically where someone takes some pictures of your back bone. A few weeks later my Mom and I went to the chriropactor and I ended up being diagnosed with a mild case of scoliosis basically where I have a 5 decree curve on my lower back. A few years later I graduated from high school on May 30th, 2015 and went to Anchorage, Alaska July 22nd-August 1st and my number  1 favorite memory from my time there is leading a little girl to Christ.I’m going to finish up by saying the number 1 thing that I have learned I’ve learned especially now as a 20 year old is that it’s up to you on weather what you go through makes you weaker or let God help you become stronger. Thanks for reading!
