Prayer

Hey everyone, so I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted on here. Life has been crazy these past few weeks with different situations happening and some decisions that I’ve had to make because of it all of which I’m not quite ready to share yet because there are just somethings that are meant to stay off the internet. One of the things that God has been teaching me a lot about these past few years is prayer. Partly through a ministry called the base but also through living away from my family for a little more than a year and moving back in with my parents temporarily while I’m getting some things in order so that way I can move out. 1 of the things I’ve been learning about prayer and just life in general is that prayer can help you through the toughest times in your life because prayer is basically God speaking to you. It doesn’t matter if you hold your hands or have your hands open. I personally choose to have my palms open because a few years ago my friend Laura and I were at the base and I just remember trying to have my hands together while I was praying and it just felt like God was trying to tell me to have my palms open so that way I can grow more in him. Psalm 6:9 says;” The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;  the Lord accepts my prayer.” Basically what this verse means is that no matter what you go through God will ALWAYS hear your prayer. I know from personal experience that sometimes it does feel like God doesn’t hear us but truth is he does hear us it doesn’t matter where you are, what you’ve done. God will meet you where you are no matter what stage of life you’re in you just need to listen to his voice. For me a good way to do that is by singing, reading my bible even writing that’s the whole reason that I write. I write to both reach out to people but also to learn. Someday I’m even hoping to make this into a full time ministry even if it takes some time to make that happen. Psalm 23:3 says;” He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” God will refresh your soul always and lead you through life and show you which path to take even if it takes some time to figure out what that path is for me personally, I’m still trying to figure out what that path is because I don’t know what that is yet but something that I’m learning slowly is to take it one day at a time because sometimes in life that’s all you can do because life is a mystery and if you’re like me and don’t know what to do with your life whether your still in high school or even getting ready to turn 23 pretty soon my advice to you is to just take it 1 day at a time. I remember when I was 18 I did think I had my life together but after high school life didn’t turn out the way I thought it would originally I was going to take classes at Des Moines Community College or DMACC for short but ended up doing ministry classes at Christian leaders institute instead for 2 years which was the best decision of my life so far. Now, I honestly don’t know if I’m going to go back  to school but right now I’m not too concerned about it. There have been times in my life that I have been scared, stressed out and have cried because fact is life can get pretty crazy and something that I’ve been learning these past few years especially these past few weeks is that sometimes you just need to cry and don’t let ANYONE tell you differently because there’s nothing wrong with crying if anything it can help you heal from whatever you’re going through. I know with the holidays coming up it can be pretty stressful so I just want to tell you to lean on God through it all through the good and bad because not only will it help you grow in your faith with Christ but it will also help you love yourself. I know there are some people that think that self –love is basically self-pity but it isn’t because love can be complicated it really can help because it teaches you that even when you mess up God will always be there and that he can help you not give up which I know isn’t easy. I’m going to finish up by challenging you to really lean on God no matter what life throws at you. As always if you have any questions then please feel free to comment below or message me or if you have any prayer requests feel free to comment below or message me. Thank you for reading!
