Hey everyone, so I decided to write about the Lord’s prayer partly because thanksgiving is coming up and I don’t know about your family but for thanksgiving every year my family and I have prayed the Lord’s prayer every year and also with the holiday season creeping up on us everyone is always focused on taking kids to see Santa, seeing who can get the Christmas presents bought first, family traditions, family coming to see you or you going to see family etc. That we forget what this time of year is truly about which is being thankful for what we have so this blog post is going to be a little different than my other blog posts so curl up in your favorite blanket, make your favorite drink point is get comfortable. 😊 I’m going to focus on 2 verses at a time in Matthew 6:9-15 the first 2 verses will be Matthew 6:9-10;”This, then, is how you should pray:“ Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Basically what these verses mean is our father is in heaven and you and I are both a part of his plan to bring people to Christ whether it’s through missions trips, work, school anywhere really! Matthew 6:11-12 say;” Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Christ has supplied us with all we need including the courage to forgive others which I know that forgiveness can be pretty hard that’s something that I’ve been learning a lot especially this year with some things that I’ve been going through this year especially these last 2 months but forgiveness is possible Philippians 4:13 says; “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. “Which basically means through Christ we can do anything as long as you believe in both Christ and yourself which for me means that I need to stop stressing so much and maybe it’s the same for you. As the holiday season is coming up and with Halloween being on Thursday and just life in general I want you to make a list of anything that might be stressing you out then figure out what you need to do about it and if you’re like me don’t stress so much about it just give it to God which I know is NOT easy even though it should be which in time it will be because trusting in general can be hard but with the right people it’s worth it because yeah this world is full of crazy people but there’s also just as much good people in this world you just got to look really hard. Something that I’ve believed my whole life is that there’s good in every single person. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past the past is in the past you can’t just dwell on the past because if you focus on the past then you’ll miss what is right in front of you. Matthew 6:13-15 says;” And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Forgiveness goes hand in hand if you do something to the person then if it’s up to that person to forgive you just like if you did something to that person then it’s up to you on if you forgive that person even if it takes some time because forgiveness is anything but easy there’s someone that I’m trying to forgive right now that I still have feelings for not as much but it’s definitely going to take some time before I forgive that person. Isaiah 1:18 says;” Come now, let us settle the matter says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson they shall be like wool.” Did you catch that? Your sins shall be white as snow which means that in Christ your sins are forgiven it doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past you are a new creation now say that to yourself “I am a new creation all my sins are forgiven in Christ”!!! Now didn’t that feel amazing? You are a new creation the past DOES NOT DEFINE YOU!!!! God defines you!! Now I don’t know what you’re going through but God does because he loves you enough that he would send his son to die on the cross for YOUR sins. John 3:16 says;” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This is exactly what I was talking about! God sent his son to earth to show us who he really is! Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice when he died on the cross for our sins now that’s amazing! I’m going to finish up with this blog post by challenging you to pray for those who have hurt you and that if you haven’t talked to God lately then talk to him because he cares about you more than anyone! If you have any prayer request, need anyone to talk to, have any questions or all 3 feel free to comment below or message me! Thanks for reading!
