Hey everyone so I decided to write about what thanksgiving is about partly because thanksgiving is coming up in a few short weeks, but also because I feel like everyone including me forgets what thanksgiving is truly about thanksgiving is about being thankful for what we have which is why I decided that the first topic in this 3 part series would be about thankfulness. The definition of thankful is someone feeling or showing gratitude. For example;” last week I turned 23 so I was thankful that God blessed me with another year of life.”. 1st Thessalonians 5:18 says;” Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Did you catch that? Give thanks in ALL circumstances! Which I know is hard these past few years has been anything but easy because long story short, at the beginning of this year I was living in Ottumwa, Iowa which was very unique because 1st when I had only been living in Ottumwa a few days a guy that came in my week at Ottumwa Job Corps proposed to me and to say that I freaked out would probably be a bit of a understatement since I kept on yelling no because he just wouldn’t listen. Then last year I found out that my hips are uneven and that my scoliosis might be gone. So 1 month after I found out I ended up having to switch trades partly because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to do the job correctly because of my hips but also because I failed clinicals so I was given the option to repeat the class that I had just gotten done with or switch to Medical Business Office support Or MBOS for short. Which was a hard transition but I had a lot of help and it was nice that I was able to work at my own pace. Especially when I drove into a fire hydrant and stop sign then for a while there were rumors going around about what had happened. Something that I learned throughout my time at Job Corp was to always give thanks to Christ and to be patient both with life and people because there was and still are people in my life that I can’t stand to be around but 1 thing I’ve learned is to kill that person with kindness not literally main thing is to be nice to that person even if it means picturing that person as a chicken in your head because only you and God knows what goes in your head. Colossians 3:15 says;” Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Basically what this verse means is as followers of Christ we’re called to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts and be thankful for what we have. For me it means being thankful for this time that I don’t have an actual job which I haven’t made complete peace with because it brings me some challenges at home and it means that I can’t travel as much as I want to. But it also gives me time to focus on my passions like writing and reaching out to people because the whole reason that I’m doing this blog is to reach out to people and I hope that 1 day I can mentor those who are just starting out as writers whether it be part time or full time which my goal is to become a full time writer someday maybe even do some public speaking. I’m going to finish up by challenging you to write down 5 things your thankful for and why your thankful for those things and feel free to comment it below in the comments section and if you have any prayer requests or comments about this post then feel free to comment or message me I would love to answer any questions you have weather if it’s about this post or just life in general! Thank you for reading! 😊
