Encouragement part 2: Jesus’s life

Hey everyone, So I decided to write about how we can be encouraged through Jesus’s life partly because Sunday was Easter but also because I feel like everyone myself included don’t fully know everything that Jesus did while he was on earth even everything that he continues to do. This is going to be a long blog post so make your favorite drink, curl up in your blanket and enjoy reading what I have to say. Acts 2:32 says;” God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. “ Now, I know we weren’t physically there when Jesus rose from the grave but we are witnesses of what Jesus is continuing to do here on earth which he is still continuing to do miracles even if you don’t necessarily see it.

 Matthew 28:1-7says;” After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” Now imagine you were in at the tomb when the angel of the Lord said that Jesus has risen. How do you think you would have reacted? Now, if you’re like me and honestly don’t know how you would have reacted. I want you to think about how you would have reacted. Even journal about it if that helps.

 A good way that we can be encouraged through Jesus’s life is through the beatitudes shared in Matthew 5. I’m just going to share a few of them but I encourage you to fully read Matthew 5 because it’s a really good chapter. Matthew 5:3-6 says;” Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Maybe one of these verses fit where you’re at right now in your life. I know with this corona virus going on a lot of people are mourning the loss of loved ones and are trying to make sense of all this. Well if that’s where you’re at I just want to encourage you to really lean on God during this time and know that even though you can’t necessarily see that person that passed away or even those you can’t see because of the corona virus I’m here to tell you that this is just a season and just like fall, winter, summer and spring  this will end as well and to know that even though you can’t see that person it doesn’t mean that he or she isn’t with you it just means that that person is with you in spirit.

 Another way that we can be encouraged through Jesus’s life is by knowing that he healed many people and continues to heal people. Mark 2:5 says;” When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, Son, your sins are forgiven.”  Through faith we’re all healed mentally, physically and spiritually. Just because you have made mistakes in the past doesn’t mean that you aren’t forgiven. Just like because your parents made mistakes DOES NOT  mean that it was your fault everyone has things that they regret doing but that doesn’t mean that you should dwell on those mistakes it just means that you should learn from those mistakes and move on no matter what other people tell you. The only person whose opinion matters in your life is God’s.

Another way that we can be encouraged through Jesus’s life is by knowing that he always provides for us. Matthew 14:15-20 says;” As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said,” This is a remote place and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” We only have five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.  “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of the broken pieces that were left over.” Now that is what I call a miracle! Just like the beatitudes talks about you will never go hungry and will always be taken care of. As I finish this blog post, I want to challenge you to help those in need and know that you will always be taken care of!
