Getting through a stressful time

Hey everyone, so I decided to write about getting through a stressful time because life can be stressful. Right now, my life is pretty stressful with different decisions that I need to make when it comes to life 3 of which could affect me the rest of my life which is pretty stressful along with different situations going on. Maybe you’re in a similar position you have decisions that you need to make and have stressful situations happening in your life. Well if that’s you then I recommend you read this blog post to the end. 😊

Psalms 46:1-3 says;” God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” Did you catch that? God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Which means that God will guide you through whatever you’re going through right now. Something that God has been teaching me these past few months is to be patient with myself and not to tear myself down no matter what other people tell me. Which at times can be hard take last Thursday for example, while I was working my stress level was going all over the place literally to where in the morning, I kept on dropping dishes off and on thankfully I didn’t break any dishes, I misheard what my boss said and was very slow on doing my job off and on throughout the day and got close to crying a few times which later on after work I did end up crying. My point is everyone has bad days and that’s okay but it’s also important to try to keep your emotions under control and remember that God is ALWAYS there for you.

Proverbs 18:10 says;” The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” God is your safe tower which means that no matter what mistakes you make he will never judge you. I’m talking from experience because I’ve made quite a few mistakes to put it mildly and that’s okay. Everyone makes mistakes the important thing is to learn from them and not emotionally bully yourself for it which I know can be pretty easy to do. It isn’t worth it though because it’ll mess up your self-esteem.

Isaiah 41:10 says;” So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” God will always be with you no matter where you go! When your weak he’ll strengthen you. Knowing that, does it encourage you? I hope this verse encourages you because while there are times in life that it will feel like God isn’t with you, he is and he always will be no matter what happens! Maybe that’s where you are right now you know spiritually that he is with you but mentally it doesn’t feel like that. I’ve been there many times in my life but every single time God has shown me that he will always be with me and he’ll be with you as well!

Matthew 6:34 says; “Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil. “Did you catch that? Do NOT worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself! Now I don’t know about you but I really needed that reminder to not worry about tomorrow because I’ve been stressed out about my future and not in a healthy way. Although honestly to a point stress isn’t healthy. I say to a point because while it is good to plan some things just don’t need planning. For example: say you were planning to go on a vacation or a business trip that does need planning when it comes to transportation and lodging and with business trips what you’re going to do. But with vacations that doesn’t always need much planning mainly just transportation and lodging not so much what you’re going to do. Honestly, one of the things that I’ve learned throughout life is that you just need to go with the flow or else everything in life will just drive you crazy.

Jeremiah 29:11 says;” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God has a plan for you and while I know it may not feel that way sometimes, he truly does even if it takes you some time to understand what his plan is for you because God truly does care about you if he didn’t then he wouldn’t have given you life!

Romans 8:31 says; “What then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Well, who can be against you? I understand that life can be pretty crazy and that people can say some pretty mean things but that doesn’t mean that you should let those things define you because God defines you NOT THIS WORLD!!!

Philippians 1:21 says;” For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” One of the most important steps you can take when it comes to stressful times is to use that to your advantage by saying yeah this is hard but I can use what I’ve gone through and how God is using me to reach more people to Christ!

1 Peter 5:7 says;” Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” Did you catch that? Cast ALL your anxiety because he cares for you not a little, not some of your anxiety ALL OF IT!!! While I understand that can be hard to do at times God really does care about you and he’ll carry you through this storm you just need to lean on him!

As I finish this blog post, I just want to challenge you to really think about what I’ve said. As always, if you have any questions, need someone to talk to and or have any prayer requests feel free to message me or comment below! Thanks for reading!
