Losing a loved one

Hey everyone, so I decided to write about losing a loved because with the holiday season coming up those who have lost a loved one this is the hardest time of year for them because they really miss that person. A verse that can help with losing a loved one is Psalm 73:26;” My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Did you catch that? God is the strength of your heart and your portion forever. I know losing a loved one is hard. I remember 10 years ago when I was in 8^th grade, my grandmother on my dad’s adopted side passed away and even though I was only related to her by adoption I still called her grandma and think of her often especially around this time of year. So, yeah death is hard but just because a loved one passed away doesn’t mean that life is over it just means that a new chapter in your life is beginning and that the loved one’s legacy will live on. John 3:16 says;” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Basically, what that means is that Christ loves you so much that he died on the cross so that way you can have a chance to give your life to Christ and go to heaven when you pass away. Now, I know death can be a pretty scary and stressful thing but just like Psalm 73:26 talks about God is the strength of your heart and portion forever so no matter what happens Christ will be with you no matter what happens which means that as long as you’ve given your life to Christ, he will take care of you no matter what. Jeremiah 29:11 says;” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This is exactly what I was talking about! God has a plan for your life and will take care of you no matter what life throws at you. Including losing a loved one which is hard but no one said life is easy and while there is a time to grieve there’s also a time to give thanks for what that person did do while he or she did while on earth no matter how short that person’s life was. It’s also a time that you should think about what kind of legacy you want to leave when you pass away. Do you want to be known as the person that didn’t really do anything with your life or do you want to be known as the person that made an impact on other people’s lives? For me I want to leave an impact on everyone’s lives all over the world! Maybe that’s what you want to do but your scared of what other people might say, well you know what the only opinion that matters are yours and Gods if someone tells you that you can’t do something don’t listen to them!!! If anything, you should use that as a reason to prove them wrong! My point is while it’s okay to grieve and let yourself feel what your feeling because grieving is a very unique experience for everyone and it’s different for everyone you should also keep in mind that God has a plan for you just like he had a plan for the person that passed away and god has a specific plan for you. You just need to let God take the reins of your life because he will lead you through life. Revelation 21:4 says;” ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” God will wipe away your tears and you can have peace that you will see that person again someday in heaven. As I close, I just want to challenge you to know that even though the person that passed away isn’t physically with you he or she is always with you in your heart!
