Courage

Hey everyone, so I decided to write about courage because I feel like that’s something that everyone could use and something that I struggle with myself. This is going to be a long blog post so get snuggled up in your favorite blanket and make your favorite drink and enjoy what I have to say and I hope you learn a lot from what I have to say.   Take this past week started out pretty stressful because I came home from church to craziness in my family then the next day I was gone from 8:30 in the morning to a little before 6 in the evening because one of my brothers and I had to run a errand before both of us had to be at work and at work it was short staffed at burger king because some people called in mainly because of the weather because it was snowing here in Des Moines so because of the snow I had to wait outside in the cold for at least 45 minutes and on top of all that I found out that my other job is closing down so. I’ve started figuring out another income and I ended up getting sick Tuesday because I was worn out and that’s okay. Sometimes you need to just rest even if it’s for the whole day even when people are telling you that you shouldn’t. Someone once told me a few years ago that you can only take care of yourself before you can take care of other people which is true, but it also means that you need to say no sometimes including to people which can take a lot of courage to do. A good example of courage is Matthew 14:26-27 which says;” When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” Did you catch that? “Take courage! Just like Jesus was with the 12 disciples he will always be with you no matter what life throws at you. You just need to have courage through life and know that Jesus will always be with you! For me personally, something that takes a lot of courage is asking for help when I need it because growing up there were some things that I struggled with and I always wanted to be independent. There are times that I still want to be independent and not always ask for help when I need it to where a few weeks ago I made a pretty big chocolate mess and tried really hard to hide it but one of the managers saw and started helping me clean up that mess because there are many times that I’m clumsy and that’s okay. It’s still taking me some time to learn that I don’t always have to do everything myself and that it’s okay to ask for help sometimes. Maybe you’re the same way I am when it comes to being independent well, I’m here to tell you that it’s okay to ask for help and that you don’t always have to hide your feelings because I know from experience that it isn’t healthy and that eventually it can cause health issues if you don’t deal with those feelings. That’s exactly what Jesus meant when he said to take courage because both asking for help and dealing with feelings can take a lot of courage especially if you’re going through a breakup. I would know. I went through a breakup back in 2019 and it was the worst pain I ever felt and made me close up for a while because the situation was pretty messed up and it took me some time to open up again to where I am a little more careful on who I trust and date. But it’s also helped me in a way because these past few years I’ve learned more about myself and that I do like going on adventures and that eventually when I do move, I’ll be okay it’s also showed me who my true friends are. Luke 9:23 says;” Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” As I close, I want to challenge you to follow Christ because he’s the one that supplies all that you need that’s the most important lesson that you’ll ever learn. As always if you need someone to talk to, have any prayer requests, have any questions feel free to comment below, e-mail me at Homeschoolgradblog@gmail.com or message me through homeschool grad blog Facebook page. Have a great day and week. Thanks for reading!
