Hey everyone, So I decided to talk about worship in times of conflict because for me personally worship has helped me process what I’m feeling with different situations with my family, work and situations with different people in the past. The 1 thing that has helped me over the years is my faith in God and choosing to let God make me stronger instead of letting Satan take control of me to make me weaker and that’s the same with conflict if it was up to Satan this whole world would be fighting.
1 way that worship helps with conflict is that it brings people together and relieves stress which is something that everyone including myself struggles with. In my own life my family has had a lot of conflict over the years with my parents separating a few times and even right now with them being together currently there’s still a lot of hurt and unresolved issues to the point that I have distanced myself from them 1 of the primary reasons being that I’m still learning how to trust and communicate with people some people it’s easy like there’s 1 in particular that I talk to every day that I go to church with. My point is while there are still unresolved issues with my family and I’m still learning how to communicate with people God is bigger than all of the pain and hurt that you will ever endure whether it’s from the past or even some in the future. God is BIGGER than all of that and that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Do you know what or in this case who is the light at the end of the tunnel? If you don’t know the answer the answer is Christ.
John 14:6 (NIV) says;” ‘Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. “Did you catch that? “I am the way and the truth and the life”. Jesus is always the answer to all conflict which is honestly why worship is very important and not just singing for me personally while I love singing there are also times that I enjoy just laying on my bed and just listen to the lyrics or even pray while everyone else is singing which can honestly be very healing. Because life is crazy and there have been so many times that I’ve broken down into tears or occasionally punch my pillow more times than I’d like to admit. Which with punching pillows that can be more useful rather than punching someone in the face no matter how tempting it can be. Honestly the best way to resolve conflict is by just talking to the person even if it doesn’t well you will at least have a peace of mind that you tried working things out with that person even if it takes time resolution doesn’t come over night. Ephesians 4:26-27 (NIV) says;” In your anger do not sin”[ Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.” Basically, what do not let the sun go down while you are still angry means is if there’s any unresolved issues from the day that your still upset about resolve them the best that you can even if it just means taking your mind off of what happened that day and don’t let the devil take control of you or your life because it’s your life no matter what people may tell you. Because people can say some pretty hurtful things even in your family that’s something that I’ve struggled with since I was 8 maybe because when I was a kid I was bullied by both kids and adults that combined with different family issues and different situations that have happened in my life is the reason that I’m careful on who I trust and respect both of which is hard for me sometimes. Maybe that’s something that you’ve struggled with over the years or even just recently.
Well, I’m here to tell you that no matter what people might say it’s okay to be careful on who you trust and respect. Because trust and respect are earned it’s not given. Matthew 5:43-45 says;” “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. “Did you catch that first part? “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” That part is hard on your own but with Christ’s help you can love those who you may not necessarily feel like deserve to be loved and same goes for praying for those who hurt you.
As I close, I just want to challenge you to reach out to at least 1 person that the relationship is tense.
