Hey everyone, so I decided to write about the Sabbath day because I feel like everyone including unnamed people in my life has forgotten the meaning of sabbath day and why it’s important to be thankful for that day. For me personally, the meaning of Sabbath day is a day of rest which growing up my parents encouraged it but now it just feels like Sunday’s is just another day to a lot of people which is honestly why I see so many people stressed out partly because they don’t take time to just relax which to me is honestly frustrating and I don’t know what to do but I feel like I should do something which is honestly why I’m writing this. The other reason I feel like people are so stressed out these days is that they focus too much on what’s going on in this world and those around them that it burns them, I pay attention to it to a point, but I also make sure that I have time for me so that I don’t get burned out.
Exodus 20:8-11 says;” Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days, the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” Did you catch that? “Six days you shall labor and do your work!” I know it can be tempting to work all 7 days of the week but while you do need time to work you also need time to relax and regroup or else, you’ll get burned out which I’ve gotten burned out and it’s no fun.
Because life can get stressful. This is honestly the reason that it’s important to time for yourself both on Sabbath day and just in general. Because I don’t know about you but for me personally if I spend all my time with people, it wears me out emotionally. Because as much as I care about people no matter if I know them or not there’s also times that I need time just God and I and just shut the world out and that’s okay sometimes distance can be a good thing just as long as you don’t keep your emotions bottled up which I know from experience can be tempting at times. But when I did that for quite some time there were times that I just burst into tears in my room because I just had too much bottled up and didn’t know what to do about it. So please if you are in that situation that I was in talk to someone about and it doesn’t necessarily have to be a therapist it can be a friend, pastor basically anyone that you know you trust, and while it will take some time you will get through this.
Psalm 139:14 (NIV) says;” I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.” Did you catch that? “I am FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY MADE!!!” You are fearfully and wonderfully made! God created you for a purpose and while you may make mistakes along the way and get distracted that’s because you are human. Being human isn’t a bad thing because life is full of adventure both good and bad.
Growing up, I had a lot of struggles and still do not as much, but I had to learn to be patient with myself from a young age because there were times that I had trouble with stuff like playing with blocks, tying my shoes, speech occasionally breathing and as I got older some issues that I had got better while some took some time to get figured out. Take the breathing issues for example when I was a kid, I had to go from inhaler to inhaler so that I didn’t have an asthma attack eventually it got to the point that I had to switch to breathe easy tea because I have a health issue called pectus excavatum which for those of you that don’t know what that is. It’s basically where there’s pressure in your chest which creates asthma. Which at times can be scary but not as much anymore because it doesn’t affect me as much. My point is while those things did happen to me it taught me to be patient with myself and to lean on God more than anyone and anything else and to take life 1 day at a time no matter what happens, and I hope you will do the same. As I close this blog post and series, I just want to challenge you to take life 1 day at a time no matter what happens. As always, If you ever need someone to talk to, have any questions, prayer requests anything thing really you can always e-mail me at Homeschoolgradblog@gmail.com or comment below or message me on my Facebook page which is the same name as this blog.
