Hope of Christmas part 2

Hey everyone, So this week I’ll be finishing up with the hope of Christmas before I start, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has read what I have to say and no this isn’t my final blog post. I honestly don’t know when that’ll be because I have a lot to say. To me what the hope of Christmas means is to believe that all things are possible. I’ve learned that a lot this year because to be blunt last year was hard on me and a lot of people around me. Between losing 3 people this year to getting into a car accident just different life stuff and even though I’m still healing from those things I know that I’ll be okay it’ll just take some time and a lot of patience which I can now say that I have a lot of patience because of the stuff that I’ve gone through. Maybe you went through a lot last year and in years past and are still healing from all that.

Well, I just want to tell you that you’re going to be okay even if it takes a while. Take Mary mother of Jesus for example, she was scared but still praised God in the midst of finding out that she’ll be giving birth to Jesus. Luke 1:46-47 (NIV) says; And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.” Mary rejoiced that she’ll be giving birth to Jesus and as Christians, we’re called to rejoice even while life is hard even when it’s tempting to just give up. I’ve been there quite a few times especially in 2021 because of different stuff that happened last year.

So, because of all of that, it’s leading me to make some hard decisions including separating myself from certain people to a point. Maybe you’re having to make some hard decisions right now. I’m here to tell you that it’s okay to make decisions for yourself because only you and God know what’s best for you and don’t let ANYONE tell you differently. A verse that I grew up hearing especially in high school is Joshua 1:9 (NIV) which says;” Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” I brought this verse up because life is crazy, and I know for me and maybe for you this past year has been hard. If that is the case, I just want to encourage you that in time life will slow down a little bit you just need to be patient and courageous because just like this verse talks about God being with you wherever you go even if it takes you some time to realize that.

 So, while this Christmas season is over, I just want to challenge you not to lose your Christmas spirit because that’s what can keep you encouraged even while life is stressful just do something that both helps other people but also draws you closer to God and it doesn’t necessarily have to be a missions trip it can be volunteering at a homeless shelter, starting a ministry anything, you feel led to do by God.

Plus, the fact that it can honestly be very healing especially when you feel overwhelmed with life. That’s honestly why I’m continuing to write because life is stressful for me personally right now with so many things happening and that has happened in my life and even though my life and perhaps your as well as stressful, it’ll be okay even if it takes some time for the healing process to begin. For me, that started while I was living in Ottumwa, Iowa because I did have some distance from my family and that’s something that I miss sometimes. Romans 15:3 (NIV) says;” May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Did you catch that? “The God of HOPE!!” God is always full of hope and by his grace, he will also fill you with hope even when life is stressful, and you feel like you just can’t take it anymore. God will give you the strength and peace you need to get through your life you just have to ask him. Matthew 6:33 (NIV) says;” But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Just like this verse talks about “seek first HIS kingdom!” Whenever you feel like you need strength just reach out to God because he cares about you more than anyone you know! Nothing compares to Christ’s love for you because for crying out loud he died on the cross for you that’s a EXTREMELY BIG DEAL!!!

As I close, I just want to challenge you to both reach out to at least 5 people and just text, call, message, email use any form of communication and just tell them Jesus loves you along with John 3:16 and for those of you that have never even read this verse here is the NIV version of it;” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” And if you haven’t memorized it, I highly recommend memorizing it because not only, is it a great evangelism tool it’s also a great reminder of Christ’s love for you!
