The power of prayer and healing

Hey everyone, so this week I’ll be talking about the power of prayer and healing because both are very important especially when you’ve gone through some pretty messed up stuff. For me, some of the stuff that I’ve had to heal emotionally from is bullying by both kids growing up along with adults. Including being told by my old principal back when I was in public school that I couldn’t learn among other stuff that happened when I was in public school. But while what my old principal said was wrong and I ended up coming home in tears that day I’ve learned to forgive despite what people have said to me. Because while I’ve forgiven that principal it doesn’t mean that I agree with that person because I don’t and have no intention of ever teaching in that school district.

A verse that I heard this morning at church that really encouraged me with some recent life circumstances and decided to look up in my bible just now is Isaiah 40:26 (NIV) which says; Lift up your eyes and look up to the heavens: Who created all of these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.” The reason why this encouraged me, and I hope will encourage you is because God calls each of us by name especially when we’re stressed out. I don’t know about you but recently I’ve been stressed out because of some pretty messed up family stuff happening along with some health stuff all of which are scary and while I’ve chosen to keep it private because some things just don’t need to be shared yet. But you know what that’s okay. Because something that I’ve learned is that it’s okay to be scared as long as it causes you to take action on those fears and to remember that God’s always in control and that you’ll be okay no matter how long it takes for you to both realize that and how long it takes for you to be okay it’s also important for you to face those fears! I’m telling you this as much as I’m telling myself this. Now repeat after me. I’m going to be okay because God’s got my life in his hands!

Also, it’s okay to keep some things private either between you and God or between you, God, and a trusted friend. There are plenty of things that I choose to keep private primarily because I’m not quite ready to share them. That’s the nice thing about prayer that it’s up to you if you share what you’ve been praying about or choose to keep it between you and God. Honestly, it can be healing to know that no matter what you share with God will be kept private and not have everyone know.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV) says;” For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord”, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Whatever you’re facing right now whether it be health, family, or just life in general, God has a plan for all that you’re going through, and you want to know the best part of it? You’re not alone in what you’re going through because God is with you no matter what happens! Just like I said earlier you’re not alone, God’s got you! Even if it takes you some time to fully realize that no matter both how many times it takes and how long it takes. That was honestly why shortly after church this morning I decided to go for a small walk both. After all, I needed some time by myself to process some things and to realize again that I’m going to be okay because I was feeling overwhelmed, and sometimes being overwhelmed isn’t a bad thing. Because that’s what took for me to realize that no matter what happens both with my health and life in general that God’s got me in the palm of his hand and that I just need to both trust and seek God with all my heart not some of it all of my heart and that’s what you need to do as well! Because life can be overwhelming and whether it’s like that for you right now or not prayer is always an amazing thing! Because it helps you refocus on what’s most important in your life which is God, faith, and those closest to you. Which honestly can be anyone as long as you feel that you can trust them, they encourage you in your walk with God and holds you accountable. I’m very blessed to have people like that in my life!

As I close, I just want to challenge you to both find someone to keep you accountable and to always trust God! As always, if you ever need to talk, have any prayer requests, questions anything.
